About the Show
The first episode of the podcast, originally called The Boonta Vista Socialist Club, was released on 24 May 2017 (Going Full Boonta). The show was initially focused on covering federal Australian politics and social issues from a left-wing and socialist perspective. Bonus episodes for paying subscribers were available from 16 June 2017. The original hosts were Andrew Law, Lucy Valentine and Ben McLeay. Theo Pengelly appeared as a guest on bonus episodes Woko Ono and Cosmic Train, before joining as a regular host on the seventh bonus episode, Stepdads With Benefits, on 11 August 2017.
From episode 49 (Much Obleijied), the show was introduced by the hosts as “Boonta Vista”.
Hosts
Andrew
Andrew invented the concept of a podcast. He now earns many royalties from all other podcasts. Husband, father, working stiff. Can be frequently found using the internet to reduce his cognitive function.
Lucy
A former Mastermind contestant, Lucy suffers from IBS and a massively oversized brain causing her to be a genious. She also writes comedy that is always high brow and intellectually reflects an understanding of politic’s.
Ben
Ben is a full-time podcaster, a thing he has never and will never say aloud. Also known as “Mister BORLFF”, Ben hosts film events under the name Two Bit Movie Club at various venues around Brisbane and has dozens of books about Bigfoot.
Theo
Theo once scored 105 on a Facebook IQ test. He does not know or do anything of use or note, but is none-the-less the proud owner of a Škoda Octavia. He is the 2nd most married member of the podcast, and is such a Charlotte. INTP.
Boonta Vista is produced by Mark, sometimes affectionately referred to as “the fifth BVer”. Mark does not exist.

Since the show's inception, Boonta Vista has hosted a variety of guests that includes comedians, artists, scientists, social commentators, journalists and public identities.
